Here is a message from Jim Case from UNH concerning the MATE 2006 New England Regional Competition. This competition involves high school and colleges building Remotely Operated Vehicles and completing a mission in a pool.
Dear MATE 2006 Teams, Judges and Volunteers,
I am writing today to update you on the MATE 2006 New England Regional Competition. First, let me apologize for taking so long to get this information to all of you. We have been transitioning the management of the regional competition from Brennan to myself over the past few months since Brennan will be in Antarctica for the majority of this Spring. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to a part of this competition, past, present or future. The main competition details are listed below:
Location: Massachusetts Maritime Academy/Pool & Athletic Facility
Multi-Function Room
Date: May 6th
Times: 0830-1700 Display of equipment and posters, engineering judging, poster judging
0930-1500 In-water pool competition
1700-1800 Awards
Awards: TBD

The DEADLINE is February 1st!
This will be an exciting competition considering we have a new venue and even more competition at the regional level for a coveted spot in the National competition. I would like to extend a special thanks to Anne Smrcina for capturing the location for this year's event! We are also updating the structure of the awards.
